Which barcode should I use?
Selling in shops? Use EAN-13 (or UPC-A in the US and Canada). The number must come from GS1 for products sold in retail stores.
Inside your business (stock, assets, tickets, ID cards)? Code 128 takes any text and is read by every scanner.
Shipping cartons? ITF-14 is the standard for outer boxes.
Good to know
Check digits are added for you. Type 12 digits for EAN-13 (7 for EAN-8, 11 for UPC-A) and the last digit is calculated. If you type the full number, it's checked.
Printing labels? Use bulk mode, then Print label sheet, or download the ZIP for your label software.
